A Finnish blogger from the Indiedays blog covered the Lumitoro launch event. It was a mention of 3D printing on the hit television show, Grey’s Anatomy, that drove her to meet us.
“In particular, (the Stickii necklace) was stunning, and this semi-polished silver necklace would be so gorgeous!”

3dp.se is a Scandinavian news and knowledge portal covering all aspects of additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and 3D printing. Their article covers the 3D printing process employed by Lumitoro to achieve its jewelry creations.
“The jewelry is made in everything from nylon to alloys of bronze and stainless steel. Although titanium is used and printed directly. This is one of the most expensive processes. It takes a lot of engineering work to prepare STL files to prevent distortions in the final product , even to process support material is more time consuming when it comes to titanium compared to other materials.”

Lumitoro : New and imperfect 3D printed jewelry
Aurum Forum, Sweden’s jewelry portal, covered Lumitoro’s launch event in this great article that highlights 3D printing and profiles Lumitoro designer, Roberto Chaves.
The original post is in Swedish but here’s an English excerpt of the highlights:
“Roberto Chaves is the person behind Lumitoro. He has long been inspired by new technology and maybe it's this, in combination with his artistic flair, that makes the result so good. The engineer, photographer and designer in him comes to life...where we meet his beautiful jewelry. He presents every collection together with a photograph, which he has taken.”
